A fully developed work exhibited at Rúllandi Snjóbolti in Djúpivogur. A small picture of a construction site sits loose inside a picture frame that’s way too big for the picture. The frame is installed so the picture is at eye level.
The work is some sort of a thought about neverending self improvement and how it can be paradoxical in a way. It’s very necessary to occasionally meditate and gather your thoughts, but at times your thoughts just run wild and often turn into overthinking, leading to a worse mental state than before. It’s similar to how construction sites aim to improve the city landscape but at the same time the constructions themselves make the area unbelievably annoying. At the same time, construction sites are supposed to be temporary and non-intrusive to it’s area and citizens aren’t really supposed to engage with them, but they’re also all over the place and kind of always in your face.
